Design Statement

My design is a modern, classy, and yet relaxed silhouette. The waist is accentuated by first adding volume and then bringing it in with a belt to flatter a woman’s body and to add a feminine touch. It is versatile for the girl on the go and is perfect to either play it down or to make a statement. 

​Another source of inspiration for my design is street culture and social media. With its rising influence, social media has contributed to the popularity of streetwear. Streetwear usually combines high fashion with more sporty items and I believe that my design reflects both, the dressy and the edgy sides of that spectrum. 

​My customer is a woman in her early to mid 20s. She works in New York and absolutely loves fashion. She needs her clothes to be professional and stylish, while still having a fun element in them to keep a youthful vibe. She needs clothes that look sophisticated, but are still easy to wear and can also easily be transitioned from a day look to a night look.
