Early last year, I made a conscious choice to step back from the corporate world to realign my career with my future aspirations. Seeking to contribute to a movement that celebrates quality over quantity, I was drawn to explore the timeless practices of Indian textiles and handicrafts.
For five weeks, I had the pleasure of calling Jaipur, India my home and of participating in MSU and IICD’s collaborative program, which explores Indian Craft & Design through Documentary Filmmaking. During my time in Rajasthan, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the meticulous work being done by Block Printing and Block Making artisans, immersing myself in their stories and craftsmanship.

I am grateful for the chance to work alongside John E. Monaghan and Yashika Bhatt to research and produce our film called ‘Dhaage: Threads of Culture Within Block Printing’, and to premiere our film at the Rajasthan International Center. The documentary sheds light on the rich history of Block Printing through chapters that delve into its traditional practices, environmental concerns, and evolving role in today's fashion landscape.
Watch our film on YouTube to discover the intricate world of Block Printing and its profound cultural significance.
